What Is Research & Intelligence?

Research & Intelligence (R&I) is the structured delivery of factual information that operators and deal teams need to move faster.

It is designed to remove the manual work of gathering and formatting information, so internal teams can apply judgment without spending hours assembling basic context.

What R&I includes

Company profiles (facts, structure, leadership, key context)

Sector snapshots (segments, themes, major players)

Market and competitor mapping (structured lists and categorisation)

Weekly monitoring (news, events, leadership changes, announcements)

Factual deal sheets (public facts, timelines, parties where available)

Output standards

R&I outputs should be:

  • factual
  • structured
  • consistent
  • sourced
  • fast to scan
  • usable inside workflows (not “pretty decks”)

What R&I does not include

analysis, recommendations, or opinions

forecasting or modelling

narrative writing or “consulting theatre”

deal strategy or advisory input

When R&I becomes essential

  • prep is inconsistent across the team
  • research work is duplicated repeatedly
  • last-minute scrambling before calls is normal
  • internal context is scattered and doesn’t compound
